Someone for Me

Everyone has a friend or family it seems
But nothing for me
Somewhere it’s gotta be someone for me
And alone again I will never be
Forever dwell in their company

I wanna go here, I wanna go there
But it wouldn’t be fun by myself
The experience need to be shared
Need to talk about what was seen, felt
Like the body, the mind needs to exhale

If someone new I meet
Let not my mind dwell on past negativity
It can cause pre-judging
And mar any beauty to be seen
And possibly the reversion to being lonely

You said ask and one should receive
If they only believe
Let me not be embarrassed or care what others think
And I pray for what I need
Lord, thanks for encouraging me
To pray for an end to being lonely

Scripture Reference: Genesis 2:18, Matthew 7:7
Background
God put the ability for us to feel loneliness because He said in Genesis 2:18 that it is not good to be alone. Life is no fun alone as you need someone to talk to and share life events with. There is nothing wrong with praying specifically for the person you would like to spend your life with as Matthew 7:7 encourages us to ask for what we want and believe that we will receive it.

Real Estate Burden Relief

So, I brought this piece of real estate
And based on what I did calculate
The profit from it would be great
But from day one of when I started to renovate
I realized I made a huge mistake
So much, that nothing more did I ever hate

A factor in the mistake was parts were cheap
But I didn’t factor in the installation fees
Then had hard time finding the help I did need
And my right hand person quit on me

So what should be profit turned into deficit spending
As repairs needed were never ending
Financially and physically me this was killing
I begged God for relief

I put on the market, but couldn’t sell
One day I asked God specifically why
He responded it will sell, if you make this figure your price
And sure enough came those to buy

After closing, I was walking down the street
Calling everybody and talking loudly
From this burden God set me free
Thanks, Lord for delivering me.

Scripture Reference   Exodus 14:14-31, Matthew 11:28-30
Background
Sometimes the very best investment decision or any decision can turn out not to be a good decision after all.  Our abilities to know how the future will turn out are limited.  And we can’t control what happens the future.  But no matter what we do in life, we have a God that is always willing to accept the mistakes we have made, take burdens off of us and restore us.   In the Scriptures of Matthew 11:28-30, Jesus tells us to cast our burdens on him and he will give us rest.  God will deliver us from our burdens.  A great example is in Exodus 14 where God delivered the children of Israel from the suffering of the Egyptians.

The Lord Showing His Love For Me

So, as I’m running on the track
I started craving a certain snack
I know this snack I shouldn’t eat
As its effect would negate my running
But as I’m running, I try to justify
Just a small amount wouldn’t hurt one time
And I’m going to the store when I’m done
So I’ll get this snack—just a small one

In the store there were three things I needed to buy
As I get to the snack aisle
Lo and behold, for the first time I can remember
They are sold out of this certain flavor
Plenty of other flavors I did see
But not the one that would satisfy my craving
How’s that for the Lord showing His love for me

Never in the decades that I’ve been going to stores
Have one of them been sold out of this product before
I was going to buy and eat something I didn’t need
But God was showing His love and did intercede
As He caused the store not to have what I was seeking.

Scripture reference:  1 Corinthians 6:19-20  body is temple
Background
God loves us so much that He looks out for us even when we don’t look out for ourselves.  In 1 Corinthians 6: 19 it states our body is a temple of the Holy Ghost.  Therefore, we should treat it with respect and take care of it.  But sometimes that can be hard to do.  Who wants to exercise every time they are supposed to?    And who can always resist the foods they love?  I’m just grateful for a loving heavenly Father, that will always find a way to look out for our best interests.
