Reassured Love

The day seemed like it was going to end
With no answer to my prayer in sight
Then suddenly a text message came in
I would get temporary help before the night
It’s no permanent answer for what I prayed
But Jesus let me know He hasn’t forgotten my case
Because right before I’m about to give up
He does something to reassure His love

Lord, While I’m waiting for the full course
Thanks for providing me snacks
While I’m waiting for the house
Thanks for providing me a room
While I’m waiting for You to open the windows of Heaven
Thanks for taking something small and making it enough
These signs reassure Your love.

Sometimes it seems an answer to a prayer will never come. This can cause hopelessness and despair to set in. But just before they do, the Lord will show some signs that He is still working on the answer to the prayer. He reassures His love to keep us from giving up to hopelessness. Lamentations 3:25 says The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

God Has Your Rainbow

Feel so down and so low
As disappointments only grow
Wondering where can I go
Want to hide, I’m embarrassed so

But in a small voice I’m told
Look up! don’t hold your head low
God has your rainbow
That will shine so beautiful

The time to see you don’t know
The wait may seem too long
But God has your rainbow
So, to faith hold on

You’ll marvel at its beauty of colors
When the rainbow does come
Then you’ll want to tell others
That He’s such a wonderful One.

Insight

A rainbow represents a bright spot in an otherwise dreary day.  When life gives you dreariness, don’t look down, look up, God will bring brightness.  He’ll bring you a rainbow to brighten your day.  Or give you beauty for ashes Isaiah 61:3

Trivial Prayer

Sometimes I’m reluctant to pray
As I feel the situation is so trivial it will work itself out
And I want to use praying energy for things that seem like they’re hard
But recently I found myself having to do a “trivial” prayer
The deadline to the airport was near and I just had to be there

There was only one road to the airport and a car covered every inch of it
The possibility of missing the plane grew real by every minute
Another plane wouldn’t come for another day
And I couldn’t stand an overnight stay
As I was so ready to leave that land the previous day

So as traffic inched along the way
I didn’t want to bother God, but I knew no other way
I began to pray, telling Him I didn’t want to stay
Thereafter, traffic didn’t move much faster
But it moved fast enough to barely catch the plane
Thank You Jesus, bless Your name.
Insight
Is anything too hard for the Lord? (Genesis 18:14) for most of us that would be an easy no. But is anything so trivial or easy that we shouldn’t bring it to the Lord? Some of us may wrestle with this question. I know for me if I feel something is simple or it will work itself out; I may not pray about it. But big problems are the result of small problems going unattended. The Lord never said not to ask Him for small or trivial things. In Philippians 4:6 it says “be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God”.
