The Simplest Task Can Become A Major Task

I was going to walk three blocks to corner store
When all of a sudden a major cramp came in my leg
Ohh, how a simple short walk became impossible
It reminded me
Doing some everyday routine things can be taken for granted
But get sick, or unable to perform them,
And the simplest task can become a major task

I used to hear about athletes not playing due to a small bodily injury like a sore toe
And I’d think, how trivial
How could something that small prevent you from playing
But then I experienced a toe injury
And while the body part is small
The pain is huge
And it prevents you from doing a lot of things

I feel like thanking God more now
To be able to do simple things with ease
Simple things can be overlooked blessings
Sometimes we want or pray for major stuff or miracles
Not realizing the greatest blessings are already with us.

Scripture references:
1 Thessalonians 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you

The above verse reminds me to thank God for every blessing and not to overlook the daily routine blessings He gives me everyday.

Psalms 75:1 (To the chief Musician, Altaschith, A Psalm or Song of Asaph.) Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.

A Simple Plan For The Day

“Never do anything tomorrow that you can do today”
Is a common old powerful phrase
Similarly James 4:13-14 says “Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain; Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow.”

So, true.

Recently, I had my day all planned out, only to wake up not feeling well and unable to get out of bed. I ended up sleeping half the day.
When I was able to get up, it made me think about how easy it is to take for granted the ability to perform every day, routine, tasks. Sometimes, due to unforeseen circumstances, we can’t even execute a simple plan for the day.
It also made me think about James 4:15 that says “For that ye ought to say, if the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that”.

Every good and perfect thing comes from the Lord (James 1:17. We can’t even carry out a simple plan of the day, without His grace and mercy which makes it possible.
