He’s The God Who Keeps On Giving

I was determined to attend this dinner in the community
Not expecting anything, just going out of curiosity
Ended up sitting across from someone
To whom I rattled on and on
About how the resources in the neighborhood were long gone
And no one has stepped up to revive and carry on

Little did I know, the the person I told
Was an organizer and leader
So, the resources I did seek, were sitting across from me
Just when I thought, I’ll never again have that thing
God opened a new an opportunity
As He’s the God who keeps on giving

Before the end, another person passed out a sheet
With a day and time for attendees to meet
To discuss new resources and things to be
Here was the second opportunity
God unexpectedly gave to me

Who is this God who keeps on giving?
This God is I Am that I Am
The God of Jacob, Issac and Abraham (Exodus 3:14-15)
Creator of heaven and earth
The father of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus
He’s the God who keeps on giving.

Perfect Peace

What if the outcome does not favor me?
I strongly pondered how unjust it would be
Yet while conjuring up the course of remedy
You blanketed me in a perfect peace

In life there are no guarantees
Things don’t always come out they way they should be
I had a hard time understanding why inequality
Yet, You’ve given me a perfect peace

Regardless of the outcome in the midst You’ll be
I’ve put my trust in Thee
You know why, but I can’t see
So, I’m in perfect peace

You have wondrous abilities
After all, You created heaven, earth and seas (Genesis, chapter 1)
I realize its no need to worry
No matter what, me You’ll keep
WithYour wonderful blanket of perfect peace.

God Why?

Spend the day, spend the night, asking why
No one can answer
Not the self-help gurus
Not the prophets or preachers
No one can say why things happen
Is it payback for some sin?
Why this keeps happening again and again

Even when I ask God why
He doesn’t give me an answer
But what He does give me is His grace
As just when this thorn really starts to cut
He sends someone or does something to lift me up
He reminds me He hears my cries
Even with my thorn, longer I can survive
Everyone has a thorn or problem that is persistent
Yet, God’s grace is sufficient.
Scripture Reference 2 Corinthians 12:7-9
And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. 12:8For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. 12:9And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.

Most, if not all of us have some type of chronic problem. It could be constantly losing a job, it could be an illness, relationship issues or anything. God doesn’t necessarily make the problem go away no matter how much we pray or ask Him why we are plagued with. But what He does is give us the strength and resources to deal with the problem; as His grace is sufficient.
