Pray Like An Athlete Plays

The tennis player was one set from elimination
Yet, the score served as no intimidation
Her serves and volleys stayed in continuation
Like she was going to have a championship celebration

Similarly, in one NBA finals
The team was three games behind in best of seven
No team ever won from this far behind
Yet, the team leader played like games just started
Didn’t care about the score or time

Common traits I’ve noticed among great athletes
They don’t care how far behind in scoring they are
They don’t care what little time they got
They press forward like the game has just started
Determined to win in their hearts
They don’t let opponents intimidate them
I’ve seen great athletes almost loose
Only to come back and ultimately win

When it comes to prayer,
I aspire to pray like an athlete plays
Pray without ceasing
Don’t let Devil intimidate me into getting beaten

It doesn’t matter how bad it looks
It doesn’t matter about the time on the clock
If you wanna win; pray with all the strength you got
When it seems, there are no more good days
Pray like an athlete plays.

Philippians 3:14
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Lord Guide

So, what should I do next?
I want to do what’s right
Lord, I am perplexed
And I need You to guide

I don’t want to lean on my own understanding
I learned to acknowledge You in all my ways
Tough situations You can handle
I trust You will keep me from going astray

I’ll be patient, for Your answer I’ll wait
The decision is tough to be made
So much is at stake
For a solution I pray
You are An Advisor, A Guide
And it’s so wonderful to have You on my side

Scripture Reference:
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

God Said Don’t Stress, Just Adjust

While Sitting getting a pedicure, I suddenly remembered that
I was supposed to pick up and drop off some groceries for someone later on today
I must have forgotten because my mind was focused on the full day I had
Scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday

So after leaving the shop I planned to go to the grocery store
But before I left the shop I got a text
I had totally forgot I was supposed to be at a wake later today
That makes two things I forgot about
So instead of going to grocery store, i headed to the wake

On my way to the wake, I get a text that my rep is almost at my house
to pick something up
That makes three things I forgot about
It like if I don’t put it in my phone ?
I won’t remember it now

The rep said they will come by Saturday
But I got a full plate Saturday
How will I fit them into my schedule?

Then the stress started to kick in
If I get one more text about something to do
I’m going to go off.
It seems as everything is piling up on me at once

As I got back in car God spoke to me
“Don’t stress, just adjust
It’s not mandatory you volunteer tomorrow
You could do that the following week
This will give you all tomorrow morning to relax
And meet the one person you missed meeting today “

What a great idea God
It’s not that my life is full of stressful things
I just needed to do a little schedule adjusting
Now I feel so much relieved
The Lord kept me in perfect peace.

Isaiah 26:3-4
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:
