Give God Some Honor

“Give me some honor”
I heard the voice of God say
Why did He have to tell me anyway?
For all He’s done, I owe Him much praise

As I was doing some decorating
I started contemplating
Should I hang this picture that has Godly sayings?
I decided no need to and as I started to put the picture away
I heard God say
Give me some honor

Give God some honor
If it wasn’t for a Him, my house wouldn’t be
He’s the one who supplied all my wants and needs
Not display a picture honoring God? how dare me

I had a moment of arrogance regrettably
But God is forgiving thankfully
In the future He shouldn’t have to remind me
As in whatever I do, let it be in God’s glory (1 Corinthians 10:31).

A Split-Second

In a split-second misfortune came
As she went from consciousness to unable to speak her name
I witnessed it, the freak accident
It’s something one hears about in news or on tv
But rarely if ever see
In a split second you can be at strangers and God’s mercy

As we waited for medics to arrive
The accident reminded me
To double down in thanking God for safety
When you leave home, you don’t know
What dangers or events may unfold

So, whether it’s just a simple walk to someplace
If I return home safe
I’m saying thank You Lord
Can’t never thank or praise God too much
Or let our thanks become mundane
Cause in a split-second life can change.
