Revenge

I picked the date and time to execute the message of revenge
Had the email ready just needed to press send
But before the revenge time came,
I heard God telling me to refrain
Cause even though I felt deceived and disrespected
This is a relationship that’s got to be protected

He reminded me that it seems you don’t need this person now
But life can change in seconds
And if you caused a rift due to revenge
On this person you may not be able to depend
So for now the email you should rescind

Refrain? This is so hard to do
When someone you trusted has so disrespected you
You want to tell them a thing or two

I was reminded to hold my peace, as they’ll come to me again
Will it be with deceit? or will an apology they extend?
Whichever way, at that time get it straight
But revenge right now don’t initiate, just cool off and wait
Vengeance is the Lord’s , He’ll repay (Romans 12:19).

Insight

It’s our human nature to wanna strike back at someone who does us wrong.  But striking back can lead to the end of a relationship. This can be significant if the relationship is between close friends or relatives. So before striking back, consider the permanent effects of enacting revenge.

God Has Your Rainbow

Feel so down and so low
As disappointments only grow
Wondering where can I go
Want to hide, I’m embarrassed so

But in a small voice I’m told
Look up! don’t hold your head low
God has your rainbow
That will shine so beautiful

The time to see you don’t know
The wait may seem too long
But God has your rainbow
So, to faith hold on

You’ll marvel at its beauty of colors
When the rainbow does come
Then you’ll want to tell others
That He’s such a wonderful One.

Insight

A rainbow represents a bright spot in an otherwise dreary day.  When life gives you dreariness, don’t look down, look up, God will bring brightness.  He’ll bring you a rainbow to brighten your day.  Or give you beauty for ashes Isaiah 61:3

Missing You

We had our battles especially when we first met
I didn’t believe your love
But as the conversations became longer
My trust in you got stronger
And I found that you were sincere
Even though your actions could be weird

And then we became close
You told me everything I should know
And I shared about me what was going on
And we talked all night long

Then suddenly, you’re gone
But I don’t question God’s actions
Of life, I know He is in control (Genesis 2:7)
I’m just missing you so

Miss talking about what’s on TV
Miss what was discussed to eat
Miss your laughter
And our gatherings
May you be blessed in Heaven.

Insight
Life and death are in the hands of God. Here are some examples.
God created all life. He created human life by breathing into the nostrils of man as stated in Genesis 2:7.
God sustains and extends life. In Isaiah 38: 1-5, Hezekiah prayed that he wouldn’t die. The Lord heard his prayers and extended his life by 15 years
God revives life. Many times Jesus raised the dead. In John 11:1-46 Jesus brought Lazarus back to life from death.
God ends life. Many of us know a point in someone’s life when all the prayers, medicine and everything else couldn’t keep the person alive. For God gives and God takes away (Job 1:21). And Jesus said in Luke 12:7 that the very hairs of our head are numbered meaning that we don’t have the ultimate decision over our lives.
