A Sad Story

A sad story doesn’t always happily end
The fervent prayer sometimes God does not seem to hear
Who know God’s plan and mind?
Why He didn’t answer this time?

A sad story didn’t happily end
But a broken heart God can still mend
He said He’ll be with us always (Matthew 28:20)
Even though the outcome wasn’t what was prayed
A sad story didn’t happily end
But peace and comfort God can still send.

The Strength To Prevail

In my life there came a time
When so much went wrong, and I couldn’t make it right
The more I tried, the more I failed
Yet God game me the strength to prevail

Many nights I cried
This wouldn’t have happened if only I…
But what I failed to understand
Is God knew why
It might have been in His plan

And just as I thought I could take no more
He blessed me beyond what I asked for
I thank God for the strength
He gave me to hold on
Pray and wait on the Lord
He will renew your strength (Isaiah 40:31)
You may be down, things not going well
But God will give you the strength to prevail.

You Don’t Know

You don’t know why you’re going through
You don’t know what God is going to do
All things work together for good
for them that love the Lord (Romans 8:28)
So it’s best to just keep on going

What you’re going through may be best for now
Even though you ask why and how
He has a plan that you don’t understand
Just remember that good can come out of bad

He said you He will never leave nor forsake (Hebrews 13:5)
Even though you ask how much more can you take
He won’t put more on than you can bear (1 Colossians 10:13)
He’s merciful, and He cares

For new life experiences He may be trying to prepare
And you need to go through this to prepare
But from trials He’ll you deliver from
‘Cause He’s such a wonderful One.
