I’ve been lamenting lately how things have changed and not for the best in my once beautiful community. As quality of life issues are becoming a challenge. Often I was talking about how thing can improve with good leadership and accountability. I even talked about how I don’t hear community or religious leaders stress simple Godly principles or His Commandments as they will lead to better quality of life if followed. I was really getting upset with the several layers of government as it seemed they all were complacent. Then God asked me, “well what are you doing?”
It was then that realized l don’t have an audience or a large group. My chances of getting tv or radio media attention are slim. And I don’t have the power to enact laws or an ordinance. But I can still do something. Maybe persuade or lead one person on a godly path. Use social media for positive messages. Gather with a few other like minded individuals to share ideas on how we can make a bigger positive impact or get better political representation. And, at the very least pray.1 Pray that God will heal our land. 2. Everyone can play a part in making things better. Doing something reminds me of the quote by former President John Kennedy
“Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.”
Scripture references:
1 James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
