How they were conducting themselves really got on my nerves. I would see them do the same thing several times a day. It got to the point where I asked God why are they being so rude. And He responded “don’t look at them.” He was telling me the reality was that I was creating my own misery by placing myself in a position of making someone else’s business my business. They were not making excessive noises, they were not calling or involving me in what they were doing. I just didn’t like how they were conducting themselves.
Sometimes we be looking for others to change their ways, not realizing that they are just living their lives with the mannerisms they are accustomed to. Maybe it’s us that need to change our ways. When someone is getting on our nerves, we shall ask ourselves are they really bothering us or is it our perception they are bothering us because we are overstepping our boundaries by looking, listening, or getting into their business? 1 Thessalonians 4:11 reminds us to mind our business.
