Same God

As years go by, life will change
Same relationships may not remain
May end up living in a land that’s strange
Worry about the future may become a strain
But while we will change, God’s will still the same

He’s the same God that delivered you from all adversity
He’s the same God with the same level of mercies
He heard your cries
Answered your fervent prayers
Showed you favor
Compassion and care

His strength faileth not (Isaiah 40:28)
He’s the same God
He was there then
And will be there in the upcoming decades
So, don’t let your trust fade.

Life will bring about change, especially as we get older. We may start to worry about if we will have our strength, or who will take care of us if we get sick; or will we have enough money to life off of etc. Isaiah 40:28 says that our everlasting God, the creator of the earth does not faint or get weary. This means that even though we may go through drastic change, God will remain the same. The same problem solving abilities He displayed when we were younger, He will be able to do when we are older. He will have the same compassion for us. So, don’t worry about the future.

Unto Thee O God Do We Give Thanks

Unto thee O God do we give thanks (Psalm 75:1)

This is the beginning of my favorite Psalm

Many times I wanna say thanks to God,

But I don’t know quite what to say

But when I start to read Psalm 75

It doesn’t take long for me to think of things

Cause I can always thank Him for the “little” things

Little things are actually big

Like just having lunch with a friend

I thank Him for the meeting privilege

Or something small like going to the mall

Or safely going to work and coming home

And so on and on

Thanking God can take all day long

His mercies renew everyday

So everyday I want to say

Unto thee O God do I give thanks.

Daddy’s Girl

I didn’t have a care in the world
I was a daddy’s girl
I knew no matter what life threw my way
He was going to be there to protect and help
Even if I caused the problem myself

In the times when he couldn’t help
He’d still help in a way
By having a kind or encouraging word to say
And his words were always Bible based
In God he had unwavering faith
Acknowledging man’s limitations, he’d say
All we can do is hope and pray

My daddy is no longer with me
There are times I feel there’s no one to lean on
Who will I turn to when something goes wrong?
Then Spirit of God reminds me
God is still here.
Jesus said He would be with us until the end of the world (Matthew 28:20)
So, I’m still a protected girl.

Insight

It’s such a blessing to have a strong person in your life to lean on.
someone who will be there in helping you make tough decisions,
who will always try to help with whatever you need, and try to lift you
up when you are down. When this person is no longer in your life, it leaves a
huge vacuum and you may worry about who will help you now. But the Lord reminds
us in Matthew 28:20 that He is will never leave us. He will be there until the end of our lives. He is also able to do anything we may need including sending us someone to support us.
